1923 Peace Dollar - NGC MS63
The Peace Silver Dollar is one of the most iconic pieces of American silver coinage—bold in size, rich in history, and deeply symbolic. At Stackers Paradise, we love the Peace Dollar for what it represents: strength, recovery, and the promise of peace, all struck in real, tangible silver.
Introduced in the aftermath of World War I, the Peace Dollar was created to commemorate the return of peace following years of global conflict. Its striking Art Deco–inspired design set it apart from earlier U.S. silver dollars and marked a turning point in American coin artistry.
Whether you’re stacking for silver weight, collecting classic U.S. coins, or building a historically meaningful hoard, the Peace Dollar delivers on all fronts.

Design & Symbolism
Obverse
The obverse features a radiant portrait of Lady Liberty, designed by sculptor Anthony de Francisci. Liberty wears a crown of rays, echoing the Statue of Liberty and symbolizing enlightenment and freedom. The word LIBERTY arcs boldly above, while IN GOD WE TRUST rests below.
Reverse
The reverse depicts a bald eagle perched on a rock, clutching an olive branch with the word PEACE prominently inscribed beneath—making this the only U.S. silver dollar to explicitly feature the word “Peace.” The imagery reflects national strength tempered by restraint and hope.
